Trying to grow out my hair has been a real challenge. About year ago, I cut my hair really short. I never realized how much time and effort goes into short hair, for example blow drying, hair straighter, hot rollers, hair spray and all the styling products. I started to notice that I was getting a lot more split ends. Now I have finally reached a hair length that I am happy with but at the same time have to maintain it without having to damage my hair as it grow out.
Tips to Follow
- First and foremost always comb your hair gently to prevent breakage. Comb before going to bed at night it helps mix the oils from the scalp to ends of the hair.
- Try not to blow dry your hair as often, if you need to blow dry get products that are heat protective.
- Avoid shampooing everyday. Shampoo your hair every 2 to 3 days.
- Get a good Conditioner that is moisturizing.
- Once a month apply a deep conditioner.
- Once a week message virgin coconut hair on your scalp leave in hair for at least for 4 to 5 hours and then shampoo.
- Get products that help from heat damage.
- If you get Dandruff here is a great recipe. Just apply fresh lemon juice to scalp and leave in hair for 1 -2 hours and then shampoo. Or apply 1 cup plain yogurt with 2 tbsp brown sugar mix apply to scalp and leave for 3 hrs and then shampoo. You will love your hair and after 3 to 4 treatments you will never have Dandruff again.
You can find most of these items at Sally Beauty. I really like their products because the price is great compared to some really expensive products and you will see amazing results. One of my favorite product is
Ion Extreme Moisture Nurturing Cream.
- Moisturizes and shines
- Helps protect against heat damage
- Detangles and improves manageability
- Leaves hair feeling soft and smooth
